History - Abeqwa Import & Export

Mr. Adnan Abeqwa started his work in painting in an early age during free time and summer holidays. This craft developed and continued throughout his university study.

Early eighties, he worked as a painting finishing supervisor and joined a painting factory as laboratory technician, until he started his career in 1985 where he professionally carried out many small and medium-sized projects for villas, homes, apartments, and residential complexes such as a 55 villa project for the Jordan Army Forces in Tabarbor/Amman with Turkish company and 36 apartments project in Prince Talal Residential Complex in Rusaifah/Zarqa with the Royal Scientific Society.

Mr. Adnan had worked hard by his own hands and as an engineer, supervisor, and project manager in many projects all around Jordan for 15 years.

In 1999, he started thinking in getting into the Painting industry seriously and to become more and more keen to his beloved career. He participated in the "Millennium Salon 1999" International exhibition of the decorative arts held in Sweden, where he met with Professor Don Gray and arranged for proficient course in Decorative Painting in Amman/Jordan to be trained by Mr. Don Gray himself.

In this 10 days course, Mr. Adnan and attendants have learned a lot from the real and practical expertise of Mr. Don Gray about painting techniques such as Marbling, Ragging, Sponging, and Wood Graining. After which, he immediately started his decorative painting career in a beautiful villa in Abdoun/Amman. The absolute success of this project had led to working out many other villas and apartments using high quality products and applying state-of-the-art techniques and exquisite labor, painting and decorating salons, lobbies, dinning rooms, kitchens, children and sleeping rooms.

In March 2000, Mr. Adnan exhibited in the "Millennium Salon 2000" held in London and was determine to acquire further information and skills to sharpen his talents. In June 2001, the eager for more had motivated him to go back to Sweden where he enrolled in a 3 weeks International Summer Course of Mural Painting, Marbling, and Ornamentation at the renown 100-years-old college of "Palm Fine Arts".

Again, he there arranged with the French Professor Mr. Yannick Guégan organizing another specialty course held November 2001 in Amman/Jordan. The participants from Jordan, Lebanon, and Kuwait have all gained vast knowledge and enormous expertise, and were extremely pleased.

In 2002, the never ending ambition of Mr. Adnan made him think in importing a famous paints brand and fruited in making an agreement with Hempel becoming the sole distributor of its products (decorative and industrial/protective paints) in Jordan. The first Hempel products' shipment arrived from Kuwait mid 2002 and was used in all Abeqwa's projects.

Late 2002, Mr. Adnan opened his first International Standard showroom in Swaifeyyah/Amman offering Hempel's top quality products such as DANA, CASA, FUSIONS, PLATINE, TOPAZ, and StoneCare, and providing hi-tech paint tinting computerized machines.

As Abeqwa Import & Export Est., Mr. Adnan started promoting Hempel's products implementing a "quality products, adapted services, and best prices" policy which resulted in opening network of 9 showrooms all around Jordan (including local distributors' showrooms) and importing paints and decor materials for distinguished governmental and private-sector projects.
